The Millennium Castle Yumuzhai, the center of Tujia culture in the world, is located in Moudao Town, 6km west of Lichuan, on the way from Lichuan to Wanzhou on the 318 National Highway. The scenic spot covers an area of 2 square kilometers and is a natural village. According to legend, the two ancient chieftains, Ma and Tan, fought for years. Ma Tusi was trapped in the stronghold, and Tan Tusi could not attack for a long time. One day, Ma Tusi dropped countless live fish from the cottage. Tan Tusi sighed at the sight of the fish: I can conquer this village, just as I want fish from the edge of a tree! "Yumuzhai" got its name from this. There are ancient tombs, ancient forest of steles, ancient plank roads, ancient gates and ancient customs in the village. There are hundreds of stone tablets on the village, including ancient tombs, intersections, peaks and jungles. Monument has a variety of shapes, such as tower, archway, archway multi-storey, circle-top, flat and horizontal. Exquisite stone carving, a wide variety of figures, flowers and patterns, figure carving are all based on historical stories and folklore, which is really a rare art treasure. There are 1 tombs of Qing Dynasty steles, the height of which is more than 5m. The largest one was built in the fifth year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (AD 1866), which was a couple's tomb with three gates and two entrances, covering an area of 1m2. The monument in front of the tomb is 5.2m high and 5.3m wide, with more than 9 figures of flowers and birds carved on it. The "Shuangshouju" in the forest of steles is a masterpiece of Ma sculpture. Hundreds of craftsmen carved it for three years and carved more than 5 figures in six drama stories. All stone carvings are carved on the whole stone, leaving behind the handwriting and artistic treasures of various fonts of modern calligraphy masters.
