Lanting preface is a failure. Why is it so famous?

1. The reason

In a single word, it is uneven in size and feels like a failure. But on the whole, its so-called "failure" just fits the charm of the composition. The full text, with 28 lines and 324 words, is charming and elegant throughout, with exquisite words, stippling is like dancing, like the help of gods and men, and it has been regarded as the best in the calligraphy circles of past dynasties. Mi Fei, a great calligrapher in Song Dynasty, called it "the first post of China's running script". Anyone who studies running script in later generations will fall in love with Lanting. The graceful and dancing brushwork of Preface to the Lanting Pavilion really makes our younger generations sigh, admiring Wang Xizhi's superb calligraphy skills and his fluent literary talent.

When he was a child, he studied calligraphy from the famous female calligrapher, Mrs. Wei. Later, he traveled across the river to visit famous mountains, learned from others, learned from others, and learned from Zhong You.
