Gu Xi, 1946 was born in Weihai, Shandong Province. He is now the editor of People's Fine Arts Publishing House, a member of China Calligraphers Association and a director of China Calligraphers Association. Mr Gu Xi is a famous painter and seal engraver. Zeng studied under,, Guo Fenghui and Zheng Songxian. His calligraphy goes deep into the inscriptions on bronze inscriptions in Shang, Zhou, Qin and Han Dynasties, and draws lessons from the famous seal writers in Qing Dynasty, pursuing a strong charm of stone and a distinct artistic personality. His works have been selected for many times in national book fairs and large-scale book fairs at home and abroad, and have been collected by Shaanxi Provincial Museum, Zhongnanhai, Beijing Library, Macao Jia Museum and Narita Temple in Japan. Biographical works have been included in China Calligraphers Directory, Who's Who in the World, National Dictionary of Young and Middle-aged Celebrities and China Fine Arts Yearbook. During my ten years working in People's Fine Arts Publishing House, I edited and published large-scale collections of paintings and calligraphy such as Qi Baishi's fine works and stone carvings. The Complete Works of China Fine Arts, Calligraphy and Seal Carving edited by him won the National Book Special Gold Award. Mr. Gu Xi strives for the cultivation of extra-verbal kung fu, so that he can learn only from his studies, cultivate his tools, and create his own distinctive personality and cultural character. After writing and editing, he published many monographs, including Management of Printing, Han Monument and Its Writing, China Calligraphy Art Pre-Qin Volume and so on.
