During Jiajing and Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, the bamboo carving art in China developed very rapidly, and a large number of excellent bamboo carving artists emerged.
Later, the development of bamboo carving technology in Jiangnan gradually formed two schools with their own characteristics, one is Jinling School and the other is Jiading School, among which Jiading School is more prosperous.

He created profound laws and opened up a new world for bamboo carving art since the Tang Dynasty.
Zhu's works were highly valued by scholars at that time. Those who got his utensils didn't call them by their names, but called them Zhu.
Even after Emperor Qianlong got his bamboo carving, he wrote a poem on it to praise Gao Zhibing, a Taoist priest. It was vivid and lifelike.
Zhu Ying (without Komatsu) and Sun Zhuzhizheng (without Zhu's son) inherited this business, and their skills are very high.
In addition, there are Qin Yijun, Shen, Hou Songzeng, etc. They are all famous bamboo carvings of Jiading School.
By the time of Kang Yong Ganjia in Qing Dynasty, Jiading bamboo carving reached its peak, with as many as sixty or seventy famous bamboo carvers.
Among them are Wu, Feng Xijue, Feng Xilu, Feng Xizhang, and Zhang. All of them are outstanding, have certain representativeness, and have far-reaching influence on later generations.
In the recent auction, the bamboo wares made by these masters are precious collections that collectors compete fiercely.
After Daoguang, Jiading bamboo carving gradually declined, and famous artists were scarce.
After the Republic of China, Jiading bamboo carvings gradually became unsalable.
After the founding of New China, only a few old bamboo carving artists such as Pan and Ye Tiansheng continued to make a living from bamboo carving in Jiading County.
1955, the government organized Jiading handicraft bamboo carving production group to attract young people to learn this art and let it be passed down.
1999, the artist Zhang Weizhong opened a new museum to make Jiading bamboo carving shine again.
In 2006, with the approval of the State Council, Jiading Bamboo Carving was selected as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage in China.
