Ni Jizhou's personal profile

Ni Jizhou, 1946, was born on a gondola in Dongting Lake at the mouth of Yuanjiang River in Changde, Hunan Province, so he was named Zhou, also known as Dongting Boat and Xiangshan Boat. Influenced by the grandfather and father of Confucian businessmen, he studied calligraphy and painting since childhood, and began to focus on figure oil painting in the 1960s, with an avant-garde style and respect for the past without being conservative. Innovative and pragmatic, learn from others, and strive to create a new way of painting and calligraphy. He has been engaged in professional painting for more than 45 years and has created tens of thousands of works, including oil painting, flocking painting, traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal cutting and sculpture. Paintings have a wide range of themes, which are compatible with Chinese and western cultures. All kinds of fonts in calligraphy are indispensable, which is really interesting and intriguing. 1984 was rated as a national first-class artist, and 1992 was elected as a member of Changsha CPPCC. He is currently a member of the Central Cultural Committee of China Agricultural Workers' Party. He used to be vice chairman of World Calligraphy and Painting Association, vice chairman and honorary chairman of China Art Calligraphy Association, art consultant of Chinese and foreign news agencies, chief expert consultant of Hunan Foreign Cultural Exchange Center, director of cultural office of Hunan Xiaokang Development Center, visiting professor of China Renmin University, visiting professor of Hunan Provincial Party School, visiting professor of Hunan Administration College, art consultant of Hunan Collection Association, painter and art consultant of American National Treasure Gallery, Canadian International Gallery, consultant of China Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Canada, and consultant of Fujian General Chamber of Commerce. He has won the special contribution award of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, an international painting and calligraphy artist, a China charity calligrapher, the son of * * * and the country, the son of Sanxiang, the top ten star and other honorary titles. His works are widely circulated at home and abroad, and are deeply loved by peers and the public.
