Known as "the best running script in the world."

According to legend, on the third day of March in the 9th year of Yonghe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (353), Wang Xizhi, Sun Tong, Sun Chuo, Xie An, Zhi Dun and other 465,438+0 celebrities gathered here to hold a "Xiuqi Day" banquet. They sit in a row on both sides of Qushui, and put the wine on the clean stream. Whoever floats in front will improvise poetry, otherwise they will be punished three times. There are 37 poems written by 26 people at this party. Wang Xizhi wrote a preface for it. This is Wang Xizhi's masterpiece "Preface to Lanting Collection", which is known as "the best running script in the world". Legend has it that Wang Xizhi scribbled this preface with cocoon paper and a moustache, with 28 lines and 324 words. All the words were varied and exquisite. Unfortunately, such a calligraphy treasure was in the hands of Emperor Taizong, who could not bear to give it up. When he died, he ordered someone to use it as a human sacrifice. Since then, the world has never seen the original preface to Lanting Collection. Lanting has therefore become a pilgrimage site for calligraphers of past dynasties and a famous garden in the south of the Yangtze River.
