There is no specific record of who invented it. About 5,000 years ago, the ancient Egyptians invented hieroglyphics.
Hieroglyphics refer to the pure use of graphics as text, and these words are very similar in shape to the things they represent. Generally speaking, hieroglyphics are the earliest writing. Use lines or strokes of words to specifically outline the appearance characteristics of the object to be expressed.
Pictographs come from picture characters, which is the most primitive method of making characters. The pictorial nature is weakened and the symbolic nature is strengthened. Egyptian hieroglyphs, Sumerian, ancient Indian and Chinese oracle bone inscriptions and stone inscriptions were all independently produced from the simplest pictures and patterns of primitive society.

1. Oracle bone inscriptions
Oracle bone inscriptions are characters engraved or written on tortoise shells and animal bones. It was unearthed in the Xiaotun area of ??Anyang, Henan Province. Because it was the capital of Shang King Pan Geng to Emperor Xin in the late Shang Dynasty, it was called "Yin" in history.
Judging from the characters on the oracle bones, they already possess the three elements of Chinese calligraphy: brush use, word knotting, and composition. The lines he used were strict and thin, with both straight and thick strokes, and his strokes were folded in many directions, which had an impact on the pen and knife used for seal cutting in later generations. Judging from the structural font, the characters not only change, but are of different sizes, they are relatively balanced and symmetrical, and also show a stable pattern.
2. Cuneiform writing
Around 3400 BC, the prototype of cuneiform writing was produced, mostly images. Around 3000 BC, the cuneiform writing system matured and the glyphs were simplified and abstracted. The number of texts dropped from about 1,000 in the Early Bronze Age to about 400 in the Late Bronze Age. The cuneiform writing that has been discovered is mostly written on clay tablets, and a few are written on stone, metal or wax tablets. The scribes used sharpened reed poles or wooden sticks to write on the soft clay tablets. The soft clay tablets became hard after being sun-dried or baked and were not easily deformed. Since they are mostly carved on clay tablets, the lines are straight and wedge-shaped.
