The Historical Situation of Lujiang Academy

Before the Song Dynasty, the counties in Zhuzhou City were still wild places, and the advanced Central Plains education stumbled across the Yangtze River and reached Liling County, the most prosperous county in Zhuzhou City at that time, which was a spent force.

Since the Southern Song Dynasty, Liling, a small town, has established nine large-scale academies in one breath. Even under the cultural and educational control policy of "parting colleges" in the early Qing Dynasty, the stubborn Liling people still founded and rebuilt five academies. Among them, Qijiang Academy, located at the foot of Xishan Mountain, has become the first choice for children in eastern Hunan to seek knowledge and study because of its longest history, largest scale, highest teaching quality and most trained talents.

Lijiang Academy has lecture hall, inner hall, zhaitang and experimental shed. There is a Millennium camphor tree in front of the hospital. Under the ancient camphor tree, there is a poem by Wang Shouren in the Ming Dynasty: "An old tree, with only cranes for thousands of years, is a hundred feet deep pool and a dragon. Monks live in Yun Shenchu, don't regard it as a human realm. " There is a heart-washing spring at the bottom right, which is clear and sweet and can relieve summer heat. On the left, there are Song Chenming Temple and Jingxing Temple, which can lead to Lijiang Academy. There is a row of test sheds on the left side of the academy, and in the front yard of the test shed is Yu Youren's book "Ning Taiyi Monument" (the monument was originally built next to Taiyi Tomb and was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Later, I was taken back by the teacher training school and temporarily stood here). In the 30th year of Guangxu (1904), the academy was changed to Lijiang Primary School Hall, and the following year it was changed to Lijiang Middle School (later changed to County Middle School). 16 closed in autumn and winter. In 17, the county rural normal school was established in the original site of the middle school, and in 1950, it was changed to the county middle school. After the county middle school merged with two private middle schools in Xiangdong and Zundao to form Liling No.1 Middle School, there was a hospital at the original site or it was idle. 198 1, Liling Teachers' Further Education School was established. 1982, the maintenance was funded by the government, and Li Duo, a famous calligrapher in China, wrote "Lijiang Academy". 1986 is listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
