Mr. Wang Deshui, born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang in 1954, is currently the president of the Japan Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Art Research Institute and the president of the Southeast Asian Culture and Art Exchange Association. He moved to Shanghai with his family in the early 1960s. He was influenced by his father since childhood and loved art. He received professional calligraphy and painting education in Shanghai in his early years. After the 1970s, he engaged in figure painting creation in Shanghai. He studied under Mr. Cheng Shifa and won many awards. After the 1980s, he studied under Fang Zengxian at the Shanghai Chinese Painting Academy. In August 1987, he went to Japan to study and study Oriental painting. Since the 1990s, Wang Deshui's calligraphy and painting exhibitions have been held successively at the Shanghai Art Museum, Liu Haisu Art Museum and the National Art Museum of China, and his calligraphy and painting works have been exhibited in Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe and Osaka. The Wang Deshui ink painting exhibition held in Tokyo in 1990 was featured in a special report by Hong Kong's "Ming Pao", and its artistic achievements and artistic value were widely disseminated and appreciated. The Wang Deshui calligraphy and painting exhibition held at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 1997 received strong support, encouragement and praise from party and state leaders, leaders from the Ministry of Culture, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, China Artists Association, China Calligraphy Association and relevant experts, and inscribed " Congratulations, all the major news media have given this a lot of coverage. In 2007, an exhibition of Wang Deshui's paintings was held at Matsubanya in Tokyo (Ginza). In September 2007, as Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, Wang Deshui was responsible for the planning and organization of the "World Chinese 2007 Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Art Exhibition" held in Japan at the 9th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Conference, and served as a judge. His works participated in the China An exhibition of paintings by nine great masters. In November 2008, the Wang Deshui calligraphy and painting exhibition sponsored by the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the China National Painting Academy was held at the China National Painting Academy Art Museum in Beijing.
Wang Deshui’s calligraphy achievements include cursive script, official script, seal script, cursive script and Wei script. Among them, Wei calligraphy has the highest achievement. Wang Deshui's Wei calligraphy "Swan Creek Manji" published by People's Fine Arts Publishing House is another new calligraphy milestone in the history of the Wang family.
