Later generations commented on He Zhizhang:

Yang Heng said: It is the time to recall the mountain and send back the visitors. Zhang Jiyun: I remember when I was away from home because I gave it away. Lu Xiang's poem "Returning Home" says: My younger brother is still a child, and I don't know him when I come back. He Zhizhang says: When children meet strangers, they smile and ask where the visitors come from. Language benefits are exchanged for good, and those who are good at birth should participate. Recently, Uncle Yan Tan's "Poem of Returning Home" also forgot the old lanes, but asked the newcomers, quite knowing the meaning of the chapter. (Song? Fan Xi-wen's "Talking to the Bed at Night")

He Zhizhang (about 659 years and 744 years), with the word Ji Zhen, was a famous poet and calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty, and was born in Yongxing, Yuezhou (now Xiaoshan, Zhejiang). When I was young, I was famous for my poems. Empress Wu of Tang Dynasty (Wu Zetian) was awarded the No.1 prize in B in Shengyuan Year (695), and was awarded the Doctor of Guozi No.4 School and moved to Doctor Taichang. Later, he served as assistant minister of rites, secretary supervisor and prince guest. Being broad-minded and uninhibited, he has a reputation for talking openly about romance, especially in his later years, and he has been named Siming fanatic and secretary outside the prison. Returned home at the age of eighty-six. He was a poet in the early Tang Dynasty and a famous calligrapher. With Zhang Ruoxu, Zhang Xu and Bao Rong, they are also called the Four Scholars of Wu Zhong. Most of the works are scattered, and there are only twenty left.

He Zhizhang's poems are famous for quatrains. Apart from the movement of offering sacrifices to the gods and poems that should be made, his poems about scenery and expressing feelings are unique in style, fresh and natural. Two famous poems, Chanting Willow and Returning to My Country, are well-known throughout the ages, and most of them are scattered. Up to now, 19 poems have been recorded in Complete Tang Poetry.
