Zheng Zhenduo (December 19, 1898 - October 18, 1958), courtesy name Xidi, was born in Wenzhou, Zhejiang, and originally from Changle, Fujian. An outstanding modern Chinese patriot and social activist, writer, poet, scholar, literary critic, literary historian, translator, art historian, collector, exegete, and member of Jingxing Society.

Zheng Zhenduo was born in Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province (now Chengliangqiao, Wenzhou City) on December 19, 1898. He studied at Guangquan Road Primary School and Wen No. 2 Middle School. , Wenzhou Middle School.
In 1917, he entered the Beijing Railway Management Institute (now Beijing Jiaotong University) to study.
In 1919, he participated in the "May 4th Movement" and began to publish works.
In 1920, he and Shen Yanbing and others initiated the establishment of the Literary Research Association, founded "Literary Weekly" and "Novel Monthly", and served as editor of Shanghai Commercial Press, editor-in-chief of "Novel Monthly", and teacher of Shanghai University. Editor-in-chief of Axiom Daily.
In 1927, he lived in England and France. After returning to China, he successively served as professor at Beijing Yenching University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jinan University, and chief editor of "World Library".
