Liang Kai’s explanation
A painter of the Southern Song Dynasty. Ancestral home: Dongping (now Shandong). From 1201 to 1204, he served as an imperial edict for the Painting Academy. Because of his loose nature, people call him "Liang Feng (crazy) son". He was good at painting figures, Buddhism, Taoism, ghosts and gods, and created "reduced brushwork" splash-ink paintings, which had a great influence on later freehand paintings. He also works on landscapes, flowers and birds. There are "Pictures of Immortals Splashed Ink" and others extant.
