Lintao County, called Didao in ancient times, belongs to Dingxi City, Gansu Province, and is named after Taohe River in China. Lintao County is located in the middle of Gansu Province, in the west of Dingxi City, at the intersection of the Loess Plateau and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the Taohe River, the largest tributary of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, passes through the city. Lintao County is located in the lower reaches of Taohe River, the western edge of Longxi Basin and the eastern part of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and belongs to the fourth division of loess hilly and gully region.
