Introduction to Mingwen Zhengming’s Plum Blossom Poems in Running Script

The "Plum Blossom Poems" volume in running script contains three poems about plum blossoms written by Wen Zhengming, a calligrapher and painter of the Ming Dynasty. He was eighty-three at the time. This scroll is 47.2 centimeters long and 470 centimeters wide. It is now in the Liaoning Provincial Museum. Fang Jia commented on this work, "The structure is broad and relaxed, the bones and flesh are evenly balanced, and the breath of the whole text is smooth and integrated." This large-character running script is rare among calligraphers' handed down ink.
