What are the shortcomings of Tian Kai?

Tian Kai's shortcomings are rigorous and standardized, pursuing the perfection of strokes and obvious characteristics. But everything is complementary to each other. Tian Kai's characteristics also constitute its shortcomings. In the late Qing Dynasty, Huang Ziyuan standardized Ou Kai, which attracted many beginners to imitate it. However, due to its low artistry, it was not recognized by later calligraphers. Tian Jie is much more beautiful than Huang Ziyuan's regular script, but it is stylized, more standardized and less varied. In Tian Kaishu's same work, the words that appear many times are written in almost the same way, and there is no difference. The writing style of basic strokes is also obviously stylized. You can see the whole sentence by reading one word, the whole article by reading one sentence, and the whole article by reading one article. After all, calligraphy is different from writing, and it is not calligraphy without difference, change and similarity. Lack of artistry can easily lead to visual fatigue. Tian Kai is good-looking, but he can't stand it. Looking at the works of some famous calligraphers, it is easier to see some flaws by looking at a single word, but looking at the whole work is full of pride and admiration. Tian Kai pursues perfection for a certain stroke and a certain word, but the whole work lacks charm. Some people say that Tian Kai's handwriting is as neat and standardized as printing, with no style or change, which is a great shortcoming for calligraphy.

Tian Kai is the laudatory name of Tian Yingzhang's regular script, and Tian Yingzhang's regular script is beautiful and generous, which is deeply loved by the public, and finally gets this laudatory name.
