Famous people in Ruian

Cai Jingze (about 151-about 222) was elected as Xiaolian in the late Eastern Han Dynasty and served as the magistrate of Nanyang County.

Later, he abandoned his official position and returned to his hometown. He established the "Duwei Yamen Office" in Shaogong Island, ordered Mingsu to be promoted, and the territory was greatly governed. He was promoted to the title of "Marquis of Anxiang".

Wu Sunquan gave him the posthumous title of "Loyalty and Righteousness" and the title of "King of Assistant Zheng".

Ye Yiyuan (approximately 600-645), Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty, Li Yuan, ordered him to take charge of military secrets before seizing power. Later, he followed Taizong Li Shimin in the eastern expedition to Goryeo. During the critical period of the campaign, he was stubbornly resisted by the Goryeo army. Riding alone, he charged into the Goryeo camp and was killed in battle.

Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty mourned him for skipping meals and issued an edict to build a temple to worship him at his residence, giving him the posthumous title of "Wu Yi".

When Empress Wu was crowned, she was given the title of "loyal martyr".

Chen Zeweng (1232--1296) served as the deputy envoy to Guangdong in the late Southern Song Dynasty. After the fall of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1296, he did not serve in the Yuan Dynasty and returned to his former residence in Ruian to live in seclusion in Baishu. His courtesy name was Renze and his nickname was Ruizhou. A native of Baishu Village, Ruian Pavilion Lane.

In the Southern Song Dynasty, Xianchun was admitted to the academic department. During the Baoyou period, he was admitted to the Hongci department. He served as deputy ambassador to Guangdong. He wrote a collection called "Canglang Xing", with nine extant poems.

Zhuo Jing (?—1402) was promoted to Minister of Household Affairs.

During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, he ranked second.

He has an upright character and is good at talking. He once secretly communicated to Zhu Jianwen Emperor Zhu Yunzhen, saying that King Yan Zhu Di was a talented man and had a great strategy, and suggested that King Yan be moved to Nanchang for control.

He was killed after the Battle of Jingnan and the three tribes were exterminated.

Han Wei (1385-1445), the censor of Daocha in Sichuan, was born in Bashui, Luonan, Ruian (now Tangxia Town).

His ancestors lived in Han since the Five Dynasties and moved to Luonan from Chi'an (now Fuding) in Fujian to avoid war. They called the place where they lived Hantian and Shanghan.

In the early Ming Dynasty, his descendant Han Shantong moved to Bashui and gave birth to Han Wei.

Jiang Ligang (1444-1499) was a famous calligrapher in the Ming Dynasty.

He successively served as the Minister of Zhongshu and the Shaoqing of Taipu Temple.

Sun Yirang (1841-1908) was a master of Chinese studies in the late Qing Dynasty. Because his academic research was extremely simple, he was also called a Pu scholar and was known as "the palace of Pu studies that lasted for three hundred years in the Qing Dynasty."
