Huang Daozhou Memorial Hall
The museum was built on the original site of Chongwen Academy in Ming Dynasty (Chongwen Academy, founded in Zheng Deyuan of Ming Dynasty, is one of the three major academies in Dongshan history. Huang Daozhou studied here as a child, and the academy was abolished in the early years of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty. ), adjacent to Baozhi Temple and Guandi Temple. The building area of the museum is 800 square meters, covering an area of about 1 1,000 square meters. It is an antique building with mud and stone structure, with red walls and green tiles, which is quite spectacular. The entrance was inscribed by Peng Chong, former vice chairman of the National People's Congress. In the courtyard of the museum, flowers and trees are planted, and a statue of Huang Daozhou stands on the stage. Behind the statue is the nave, with the inscription of "Celebrating the Millennium of Righteousness" by Liu Haisu. The pillars in the main hall are engraved with couplets presented by Professor Huang Diancheng and Professor Chen Shouqi. The 400th anniversary of Huang Daozhou's birth was held in Dongshan County in 1985, and was completed and put into use in 1988. 1996, Huang Daozhou Historical and Cultural Relics Exhibition was held.
The exhibition content of Huang Daozhou Memorial Hall is divided into five parts. The preface mainly introduces Huang Daozhou's life, including Huang Daozhou chronology, Huang Daozhou's character, number, room name, posthumous title and some seals, and Huang Daozhou's genealogy. The first part: Learn less, the sun at sunrise. With the historical lens of Daozhou's hometown, learning from his brother, studying in Boluo, Fujian gifted scholar, burning manuscripts with tears, being absorbed, inventing novels, traveling in space and so on, the Huangdaozhou in his youth is displayed coherently. The third part: do your best to serve the country and save the righteousness for thousands of years. With a series of historical shots, Huang Daozhou's selected works, Huang Daozhou's anti-Qing March map and related materials, it shows Huang Daozhou's political career all his life. The third part: a generation of masters, admired by the world. Huang Daozhou's lectures in Dongshan Hometown, Zhangpu Beishan Cemetery, Hangzhou Dida Academy, Zhangzhou Ziyang School, Jiangdong Yeshan Lecture Hall and Zhangpu Mingcheng Hall are reproduced with a set of historical lenses. The fourth part: absorb the essence and carry forward. Use a large number of historical materials to show the research results and evaluation of Huang Daozhou in past dynasties.
Since the opening of Huang Daozhou Memorial Hall in Dongshan County, there has been an endless stream of visitors at home and abroad. As a famous Confucian master, calligrapher and patriot in the late Ming Dynasty, his patriotic spirit will always inspire future generations. Memorial Hall is an important patriotic education base in Dongshan and one of the top ten outstanding patriotic education bases in Fujian Province.
