Is the painting style of China Southern Song Academy very gentle and charming?

It seems that it is not comprehensive and appropriate to summarize the academic painting style of the Southern Song Dynasty with the word gentle and lovely. Among the four great masters of the Southern Song Dynasty, we don't see many people who are gentle and lovely. Li Tang, the first painter, has a vigorous style and a grand composition. In Song Dynasty, the painting style was graceful and elegant, and the horse composition was small and bold. Later, especially in the late Southern Song Dynasty, the decline of state affairs led to the pursuit of gentle and charming paintings. Zhao's contact with court painting at that time was likely to show this way, but it could not be regarded as the normal state of an era. Zhao's own calligraphy is actually good at being gentle and charming. The reason why he admired the Tang Dynasty mainly lies in his figure paintings. It is common for people in the Qing dynasty to deny the previous era and praise the more distant era instead. For example, the Yuan people despised the Southern Song Dynasty and admired the Tang and Song Dynasties, while the Ming people despised the Yuan style and imitated the courtyards of the Song Dynasty. In the Qing dynasty, everyone went again.
