Women's cultural self-confidence

Many people know that the word "she" was born during the New Culture Movement and was invented by Liu Bannong scholars. This scene was shown in the TV series Awakening Times. Liu Bannong took the word "she" written in black calligraphy on white paper and resolutely showed her eyes to college students in the north.

The word "she" ends the confusion of the third person expression in Chinese and enriches and develops the language. Anyone who has read the classic novel A Dream of Red Mansions knows that both men and women in it refer to him. Cao Xueqin had not invented the word "she" at that time. The appearance of "she" is indeed a great manifestation of the progress of the times and an important achievement of women's strength.

After creating "she", women still have a long way to go in the future. The ancients said, "The road is long, but it will come in the end.". Maybe we should believe this sentence more and practice hard.

Several recent events have made me feel that the road ahead is really a "long road".

I finished watching To Kill a Mockingbird some time ago. This is a classic book. Forgive me for watching it so late. At that time, when I was reading a book, I knew it was written from the perspective of my primary school girl sister, but I didn't know it was a female writer until I finished reading the book completely and searched the author harper lee. When I found myself reading this book, I subconsciously thought it was written by a male writer.

I have known this book for at least ten years, a classic American family growth education book. For more than ten years, I always thought that this book was written by a male writer. In 2022, I discovered my own absurdity.

Listening to the teacher sharing the interpretation class of Abandoning Cats, I said that the Chinese translation of this book was started by a young team, and many other works of Haruki Murakami were translated by an elderly Mr. Lin. The teacher said the name of the translator of Abandoned Cat-Ye Yi, and I automatically invited another male scholar to translate it myself.

Later, I searched Ye Yi on the Internet and found that she was a young lady and scholar. At that moment, I really slapped myself and made this mistake again.

I didn't expect that. Recently, I listened to the teacher share the story of Peter Rabbit. Of course, I have seen the cartoon images of Peter rabbit and cute rabbit. There are also several lovely iron boxes at home, which can be used to hold jewelry or small objects. Peter rabbit is painted on the box. I bought these boxes because they look good. However, I am ignorant. I haven't read the literature about Peter Rabbit, and I don't know the story of the creator of the rabbit.

When the teacher mentioned the name "Potter", the author of Peter Rabbit, and the birth experience of this little rabbit, I naturally thought of being a male writer again. Later, I looked it up myself and found that Potter was a woman writer.

I admit that I am really ignorant. Many writers and books don't know or don't know. But I am even more dissatisfied with my subconscious thinking that these writers are all men, and this illusion has occurred one after another. Writers or scholars who don't know the works with unknown names automatically assume that they are all written by male writers.

I don't know what kind of psychology this is, the subconscious female inferiority complex for thousands of years.

Ferrante said that when she was a student, she seldom came into contact with the works of female writers. The limited images in those female works are all created by male writers, Anna by Tolstoy and Madame Bovary by Flaubert, although Flaubert said that Madame Bovary wrote them herself.

Therefore, she later devoted herself to creating an excellent female image work "My Genius Girlfriend" in the 20th century. I watched an interview with Chen Danqing, who said it was a rare excellent female work after the 20th century. He seldom reads modern novels, but everyone can't put it down and finish reading the story.

Ferrante is aware of the shortage of female writers. When she was a student, she only read the works of male writers.

In 2022, an ignorant woman like me subconsciously believed that many excellent works were written by male writers, but in fact, many of these excellent works were created by female writers.

Let yourself deeply feel that the road to women's awakening and progress is "long and long". Anyway, let's go on. At least I hope I can realize my rash judgment. People who don't know much about the author of the work and have never heard the name, don't subconsciously think that they are all male authors when they hear it for the first time in the future.

Don't disappoint the efforts of more and more outstanding female writers ... Please increase women's cultural self-confidence!
