"Daxiangguo Temple" is located in the west section of Ziyou Road, Kaifeng City. It was originally named "Jianguo Temple" and is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China. In the octagonal pavilion standing in the center of the Luohan Hall of "Daxiangguo Temple", there is also a statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva with thousands of hands and eyes on all sides, carved from a complete ginkgo tree. It was a famous figure in the Qianlong period. It took an unknown folk artist 58 years to complete it, and it is now the treasure of the "Daxiangguo Temple".
The "Sutra Collection Building" of Daxiangguo Temple is also very spectacular. It was built during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. Under the eaves of the bright room of the Sutra Collection Building hangs a seal script plaque with black characters on a white background. It is said that it was Sun Xingyan, a master of calligraphy in the Qing Dynasty. The legacy of ink.
Kaifeng’s “Daxiangguo Temple” is still a provincial key cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province. However, some tourists are still dissatisfied with the fact that “Daxiangguo Temple” now needs to charge 40 yuan for admission. The ticket price is too high and not reasonable.
