Reading methods of classic works

The most practical thing is to find a book, The View of Ancient Chinese, which has been translated from ancient times to the present, and then read some novels in ancient vernacular. The language of these novels is very similar to today's, and they are all written in ancient spoken language, such as Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin and Tang Dynasty. Then, with the help of reference books such as Ancient Chinese Common Dictionaries, I read some historical articles, such as Historical Records and Zi Zhi Tong Jian. As for the Analects of Confucius and Laozi, you can't understand it without knowing its literal meaning. These are very philosophical, with many extended meanings and many interchangeable words.

There are many fables in Lu Chunqiu and Han Feizi, which are very interesting. Xunzi's argumentative essay is actually magnificent and has a lot of feelings to read. There are too many myths and imaginations in Li Sao and Zhuangzi, so it is not recommended to study them at the beginning.

I have never read such a book as 30 masterpieces in 30 days. Read it step by step and return to the original. If you don't understand, you can read the translation, but don't read other people's comments. That will limit the thinking of reading and lose the pleasure of reading.

Learn ancient literature slowly, don't worry, it wasn't built in a day. You can communicate with the landlord if you have any questions. I am currently preparing for the postgraduate examination of ancient literature. Finally, I wish LZ further and further on the road of ancient literature.
