Hong Kong Baptist University, formerly known as Hong Kong Baptist College, was founded in 1956. 1972 changed its name to Hong Kong Baptist College. The first president was Dr. Lin Zifeng, and the school tablet was inscribed by a famous educator, calligrapher, writer and Professor Han Jiaao of Tsinghua University.
The university has eight colleges: College of Arts, College of Business Administration, College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, College of Communication, College of Science, school of visual arts, College of Social Sciences and College of Continuing Education.
The first six colleges * * * offer more than 40 undergraduate majors and more than 30 advanced degree courses. By 20 19, there will be 85 full-time teachers, 865 part-time teachers and more than 10,000 students. The College of Continuing Education offers associate degree, bachelor degree and master degree courses, as well as certificates/diplomas and short-term refresher courses, with 50,000 students each year.
