How can you learn calligraphy without a teacher?

Practicing calligraphy is undoubtedly the most important. Talking about calligraphy without great effort and effort is like eating whole grains like chicken, duck and fish, which is nonsense. It's strange not to kick earlier.

It takes a lot of effort to send a post. I often hear the teacher say that when learning calligraphy from the teacher, the teacher often says: stick it a hundred times, or don't come to me.

But they haven't been here a hundred times. What is the concept of "hundredfold"? Take Yu Shinan's Confucius Temple Monument as an example, about 1900 words. The speed of posting is about ten words an hour. It's not that you can write ten words in an hour, but that you can understand them thoroughly. It took me five or six times to master the difficult words in the tablet of Confucius Temple, such as "Rang", "Nai", "Sheng" and "Jin". This is still a lot of ten words an hour. Calculated by ten words in an hour, 1900 words takes 190 hours. I have to go to work, do housework, accompany my wife, accompany my children, and deal with all kinds of chores. On average, I spend at most two hours learning Chinese characters every day. In this way, it takes 95 days to walk the temple monument every day, which is three months. Four times a year, forty times in ten years, and it takes more than twenty years to complete this one hundred times! Even twenty years ago, when I was a student, I was homeless and unemployed, and I had no worries. I gave up all entertainment and wrote ten hours a day (which is actually impossible, and I have to do my homework), but it would take five years!

Well, a hundred times is impossible, so ten times. For example, if a person wants to learn calligraphy, he should first learn Ou Yangxun's Inscription on Liquan in Jiucheng Palace for ten times, and then learn Ou Yangxun's Monument to Huangfu's Birthday, Monument to Gong Yu and Monument to Huadu Temple for two years. In five years, I have almost learned European regular script. Learn Yu Shinan's tablet of Confucius Temple three times, one year. In six years, I have mastered regular script and learned running script. "Preface to Lanting Collection" has been published ten times, half a year, and "Preface to Holy Teaching" has been published five times, one and a half years, two years, and I also have working knowledge. Eight years, I can write regular script and running script. I can and should relearn cursive script, official script and seal script, but it is not necessary. Next, you must set your direction according to your own preferences. If you specialize in a certain kind of script, then you should stick to it widely. Take regular script as an example. If Yu Shinan has finished his studies and wants to improve, he should learn from the epitaphs of the Northern Dynasties, such as Zhong Wang Xiaokai, Sui Bei, Zhi Yong, Chu Suiliang, Yan Zhenqing, Zhang Jizhi, Zhao Mengfu, Wen Zhiming, Wang Chong and their neighbors, Wu Yuru and Kang Yin, so that they can be integrated into one furnace and regular script can truly become elegant. These books mentioned above, if accessible, can't be finished in 20 years even if they are read repeatedly. That is to say, if I learn regular script on paper, the running script can make up the problem. Since I have regular script, it is not enough to write all the traces of 1800. This palindrome is regular script.

Life wandering for a hundred years is bound to last forever &; Mdash& ampmdash Li Bai. People live a lifetime, just a few decades. When they are young, they are ignorant, and when they are old, they are sick. They can still make a difference in forty or fifty years. So be sure to plan what you want to do and what you want to do. If you don't have a plan and try to do it completely, you are likely to get twice the result with half the effort, or do nothing at all. This is especially true when learning calligraphy. If there is no good method, even a full pool of ink will not practice. Therefore, we should pay attention to the method of posting, not just "playing dumb"

In the early stage of learning calligraphy, "stupidity" is necessary. "Stupidity" means "copying posts" word for word. You need to write more, so that you can be familiar with the skills of using pens, master the general rules of various strokes, word formation and even the use of paper and ink. For a person with sound mind (/kloc-over 0/4 years old) and a certain understanding of calligraphy, this process takes more than three years.

Next, it should be "smart". Being smart doesn't mean not working hard, let alone being opportunistic. It is superficial to study the writings of famous contemporary scholars without paying attention to ancient posts, and it is impossible to reap the fruits. "Smart" is based on thinking. Between the lines, to understand the words thoroughly, it is necessary to draw inferences; When you are near the cross, you should have a general grasp of the pen and words used in the whole post; When you approach the word 100, you must make clear the overall style and charm of the whole post; After a thousand words, you can create whatever you want. This is to specialize in a certain font, just like the above-mentioned study of European and regular script. If you are involved in a wide range, then find a copy book that I have been to, such as "Zhi Yong Qian Zi", "Zheng Wengong Monument" and "Wu Yuru". Unless you have a special preference, it is enough to present 50 words carefully and selectively. The so-called "choice" is to find the right direction &; What does mdash& ampmdash solve? What should I focus on? For example, when I study "Zhi Yong Qian Zi", I will refer to Yu Shinan's calligraphy, which is in the same strain. There is nothing special about brushwork. I focus on its brushwork, spirit and charm. Learning the Zheng Wengong Monument is to appreciate the vigorous and heavy brushwork of the North Monument; Wu Yuru is a master. To learn his regular script, we must first have the foundation of epitaph calligraphy in Ou Yu's Northern Dynasties. In China, calligraphy has a long history, spanning thousands of years. But for thousands of years, we have to find out its exact time. Some people say that calligraphy developed from Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, big seal script, small seal script, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script. There is nothing wrong with developing all the way, but the characters before Xiao Zhuan are strictly writing, and Xiao Zhuan includes calligraphy after Xiao Zhuan. This point must be clarified. Don't mistake Oracle Bone Inscriptions and Jinwen for calligraphy. On the other hand, calligraphy has been standardized by Qin Lisi for more than two thousand years. It can be said that calligraphers and calligraphers are numerous and talented. While appreciating the works of the ancients, we certainly hope that we can write good words.

So, what elements do we need to have to write well? And where can we get twice the result with half the effort? There is only one answer, scientific and reasonable, and learning the law properly.

First, understand the history of calligraphy and the knowledge of calligraphy skills.

China's calligraphy is an abstract symbolic art with four-dimensional characteristics, which is written with a brush and based on Chinese characters. It has experienced the evolution of Oracle Bone Inscriptions, bronze inscriptions, seal script, official script, regular script, running script and cursive script, and its form has changed from complex to simple.

The development process from static to dynamic. It can also be said that it is a history based on strokes and expressed by linear motion.

Therefore, to learn calligraphy, we need to understand the formation and evolution of calligraphy in different times, the characteristics of the times and the characteristics of important people.

At the same time, we should learn and inherit the valuable experience handed down by our ancestors and proved by practice. For example, it is a shortcut for us to study calligraphy by deeply studying the way our ancestors used pens, the structure of words, the posture, brushwork, composition, gas and intention of pens. It also prevents us from "only knowing what it is and not knowing why" in the process of learning.

Second, the post

Pro-post: "The ancients used a pen that remained unchanged through the ages". Sticking is a necessary means and way for us to learn calligraphy. "If you don't learn, you can do it without learning." You can start with the calligraphy in the post. First of all, running script is more in line with writing habits. Secondly, running script, like sketch in painting, is easier to master the structure of words in a relatively short time. In the running script of Concentration, the grass can be attacked and the next one can be decided. Posts are divided into several stages: empty, right, back and meaning.

As a beginner, you can choose a kind of calligraphy and stick to it repeatedly, so that you can fully understand and master the brushwork and structure. Some difficult strokes are targeted exercises.

Third, take the hard and the soft, and seek perfection in the soft.

We usually refer to pencils, pens and signature pens as hard pens. A brush is called a soft pen. The ancients learned to write differently from us modern people in tools, methods and writing environment. Touch is a brush. Through the teacher's explanation, demonstration to posting, from strokes to structure, from cognition to word generation, a good foundation has been laid. Life and study are all a brush, and learning and application are unified.

What we can read is printed type. If we can read, we can write. Most teachers who teach us are not the inheritors of calligraphy.

The tools used range from pencils, pens and signature pens to computer typing now. I have little time to post when I touch the writing brush, and I don't need it in my life and work. Our cognition and writing of Chinese characters are very different from those of the ancients. Therefore, in the study of calligraphy, we should pay more attention to methods.

As far as the use of tools is concerned, pencils and pens are more convenient and easy to master than writing brushes. Expressiveness, hard pen is far less than soft pen. For beginners, hard pen is better than soft pen in mastering the shape and structure of emoticons.

So you can use hard pen first, mainly in the structure and charm of words. After mastering it, you can post with a soft pen like a hard pen. This is a good way to use tools from easy to difficult. But you must write like the ancients. In this way, the center can carry pens and give play to the characteristics of writing brushes.

Fourth, first small, then big, first easy, then difficult.

How big was the initial practice of calligraphy? Opinions vary, each holding its own word. Taking brush calligraphy as an example, it is more difficult to write big characters than small characters, and it is difficult to grasp the stroke structure of characters, and the difficulty ranges from cantilever, elbow and wrist to small. But in terms of the quality of words, there is no difference in size.

Therefore, starting from personal hobbies and habits, it is good to write the words smoothly. You can start with small letters and get familiar with the structure and form of characters in a relatively short time, which is also easy to do economically. As far as the effect is concerned, it is suggested that beginners start learning from the original university or a place slightly larger than the original university, which is closer to the pens used by the ancients and thus enriches their abilities.

In a word, the purpose of learning calligraphy is to write well. Guided by scientific methods and theories, we should sum up the laws and practice them repeatedly, and learn from others for our own use. At the same time, we can also use the Internet to increase our learning channels. Through accumulation, practice makes perfect, from easy to difficult, step by step, so as to achieve the goal of mastery. Repeatedly study the brushwork, knot words, composition and ink method. Only by confirming what you have learned before can the standard of regular script be further improved.

Another important point of "Qiao Lin" is the vision of selecting posts. As mentioned above, it is impossible to cover everything. Choosing which course to study involves the vision of choosing a post. Choose according to your own preferences and the problems you want to solve. For example, if we want to further improve our European and Yu Kai calligraphy, we must trace back to the source and learn the sculpture calligraphy of Zhiyong, Wang Xizhi and the Northern Dynasties (for European learners). It's not a matter of preference. And if you want to broaden your horizons and integrate the strengths of each family, you can choose your favorite books and posts according to your personal preferences. Remember, when learning brush calligraphy, it is impossible to have paper, ink, pens and inkstones everywhere. Reading posts is no less than posting. Reading a post is like stopping to look at the scenery, and you can savor the nuances in the post. Lin mdash& ampmdash Read the post &; Mdash& ampmdash; If you post again, your gains will be several times that of your simple posting.

Save a lot of valuable time through "smart arrival". Why? Creation! It is extremely important to replace training with "innovation", just as students replace training with exams and athletes replace training with competitions. If you don't create, how can you "seek articles"? If you don't create, how can you know where the shortcomings are? If you don't create, how can you keep the unremitting passion and motivation for learning books?

From "stupid" to "clever" is an important turning point in learning calligraphy. Whether you can be "smart" is the key to success or failure in learning books. "Stupid", calligraphy paper is a boring learning; "Qiao Lin" can make you feel the joy and pleasure of learning books, and really turn calligraphy into a part of life!
