Introduction of Gong Fan Temple Screen Wall

Houdiao Yingbi Mountain is high in water: Located in the west of Fanquan, it was built in the Ming Dynasty and is one of the important cultural relics of Gong Fan Temple. The screen wall is an I-shaped stone screen wall with hanging mountains, covered with a stone crown, carved with a sumeru stone base, surrounded by a stone frame and a stone carving in the middle. The screen wall is 3.5 meters long and 2.3 meters high. There are four broken characters carved in the east, which are the calligraphy masterpieces of Zhang Zhongfa, a great calligrapher in Zichuan in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1625). According to historical records, Zhang Zhongfa, a great calligrapher, invited relatives and friends to visit places of interest in Gong Fan Temple at that time, deeply feeling Gong Fan's anxiety about the world in front of him. After satiated with food and wine, he was moved by the noble morality of the world, and he still remembered Gong Fan's noble sentiment. So he used local materials, grabbed a straw as a pen in Fanquanchi and wrote four big characters on the wall of Gong Fan Temple. Fan Zhongyan once wrote an article praising Mr. Yan Ziling: Yunshan is grey, the rivers and seas are boundless, the gentleman's wind is long, and the mountains are high. In this place, it is quite appropriate to use Gong Fan's words to sing poems in praise of Gong Fan's worries before the world and his joy after the world. At that time, people of insight in Shen Yan Town copied it on the screen as a permanent memorial. The inscription on the left side of the four Chinese characters "Mountain, Water and Height" on the screen wall was written by Zhang Zhifa, the younger brother of the great calligrapher Zhang Zhongfa. The screen wall has been completed for more than 370 years and is well protected.
