The most famous place in Lianyungang is Lianyungang Huaguoshan Scenic Area. Huaguoshan is located in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province. The gate of Huaguoshan was built on July 1, 1996. As soon as we arrived at the mountain gate, the atmosphere of "Journey to the West" hit us. The mountain gate is based on the skeleton of the traditional ancient city gate and is rendered with modern expression techniques. On the main entrance is the head of Sun Wukong, with a circular pattern on the back, symbolizing the perfection of merit and virtue. On the north side, there is a relief sculpture of Tang Monk and his four disciples studying for scriptures in the west. Below, there are 6 round sculptured lions guarding the door. There are 109 stone monkeys around the square to welcome guests. The four words "Dongsheng Shenzhou" are engraved on the plaque on the back of the mountain gate and were inscribed by Mr. Shen Peng, acting chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. Through the doorway in the middle, you can see the statue of Wu Chengen in the pine forest. You can walk along the Xianren Bridge, Zhujieling, and Shibalan Mountains, or you can take a car directly to the top of the mountain. There is a stone on the side of Shibapan Road that looks like a carp, with its head on the ground and its body half buried underground. It is said that the ancient emperor was afraid that the country would be unstable, so he sent many yin and yang gentlemen to various places to investigate and destroy the dragon veins. One day, one of them came to Yuntai Mountain and discovered the carp stone. He also saw the first heavenly gate on this mountain. He knew that as long as the carp jumped over the Tianmen, it would turn into a dragon, be born in the mountain owner's house, and when it grows up, it would steal the emperor's empire. Mr. Yin Yang found the mountain owner and told him the truth. The mountain owner was very happy and asked how to make the carp jump over the Tianmen. Mr. Yin and Yang told him that as long as he built eighteen plates next to the carp stone, he would be able to fly to the gate of heaven. So the owner of the mountain hired people to build eighteen pans day and night, and Mr. Yin Yang left with peace of mind. It turns out that a carp can only become a dragon if it jumps over the heavenly gate. If it lands on eighteen plates, it can only be a dish in the world, and the feng shui is broken. Climb up the 18th Pan and not far away is the Nantianmen. In "Journey to the West", it is the outer gate of the Jade Emperor's Lingxiao Palace. Every time Sun Wukong goes to heaven to ask for help, he passes here first. The old Guandi Temple in Nantianmen was destroyed by the Japanese invaders. Lin Zexu once visited here before the Opium War and left three famous Qilu poems. Go down from Nantianmen to Jiulong Bridge. Jiulong Bridge is one of the main attractions of Huaguo Mountain. It is located in a valley surrounded by mountains. Nine large streams converge here and then rush to the sea at the foot of the mountain. In the past, pilgrims descended from the Nantianmen Trail to the bottom of the valley. After taking a short rest, they could gather their strength and continue climbing. Although this drop and rise increases the difficulty of mountain climbing, it also adds to the ups and downs of interest. Jiulong Bridge was built in the Ming Dynasty. It is a large brick arch bridge. It not only facilitates pedestrians, but also leaves an artistic masterpiece for future generations. The large ginkgo beside the bridge is nearly a thousand years old and is a relic of the Song Dynasty. It covers the Jiulong Bridge with dense green shade. The mountain breeze is blowing on the bridge, the water is gurgling under the bridge, the pines are full of ears, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant, which completely eliminates the fatigue of tourists. To the south of the bridge is the Jiulong General Temple, which is the bridge temple; to the north is the Tea House, which used to be a place for tourists to rest and enjoy tea, but is now the Wu Cheng'en Memorial Hall. You can reach Sanyuan Palace by climbing along the mountain road or taking the cable car. Sanyuan Palace is the main temple in Yuntai Mountain and the main building in Huaguo Mountain.
Shuiliandong is a natural fissure cave with an artificial tunnel leading to the lower platform. There are many precious inscriptions in front of the cave door. The "Yinxin Stone House" was handwritten by Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty and was given to Prince Shaobao, Minister of War, and Governor of Liangjiang Tao Shu. In the twelfth year of Daoguang's reign (1832), Tao Shu was ordered to come to Haizhou to reform the salt policy. He achieved outstanding results, turning the Qing government's treasury from losses to profits, and a short-term resurgence emerged. Therefore, the emperor gave him the honor of being the personal scholar. Three years later, Tao Shu came to Haizhou again as an imperial envoy to inspect the results of the salt reform, and initiated the repair work of the Yuntai Mountain temple and extensive construction projects, which suddenly gave this scenic area a completely new look. In order to commemorate his achievements, the local people engraved the imperial book "Yinxin Stone House" next to Shuiliandong. The word "Lingquan" is the brilliant handwriting of Zhizhoushi during the Jiaqing period. "Lingquan" refers to the small square well in the cave. Although the well is not big, it has water all year round. It does not dry up in severe droughts. According to folklore, it leads to the East China Sea. The sea eye of Dragon Palace refers to it. Located at the southern foot of Yuntai Mountain, it is an important part of Huaguo Mountain. The natural scenery in the scenic area is unique and beautiful, with deep and unique mountain streams and canyons, and endless waterfalls in all seasons, especially the legendary Laolongtan, Erlongtan, and Sanlongtan where the three dragons play in the water, as well as the dragon bed where the Dragon King and the Third Prince sleep, giving people a sense of wonder. The feeling of entering paradise. The height of Laolongtan Waterfall is more than 40 meters, which is within reach of tourists. The waterfall roared and splashed jade. Hidden Dragon Cave halfway up the mountain is a veritable water curtain cave. The jagged and strange rocks surround the cave door, and the water curtain of the cave hangs upside down. The cave can accommodate more than 20 people.
Looking from the "rainbow viewing platform" near the entrance of the cave, you can also see the huge rainbow reflected by Laolongtan Waterfall. The scenery is very spectacular.
