Zhang Shuhou (1866- 1935), a native of Shouzhou, Anhui Province, was a veteran of the 1911 Revolution. In his early years, he founded the "Strong Society" and planned the Anqing Uprising. Later, he joined the China League, followed Dr. Sun Yat-sen to participate in the democratic revolution, and participated in the Wuchang Uprising in 19 1 1. After the founding of the Republic of China, he retired to the countryside to concentrate on artistic creation because of political chaos.
Zhang Lao once taught in Beijing Women's Normal University and yenching university, teaching Confucian classics and calligraphy. He is good at calligraphy and painting, especially at seal cutting. His main works are True Calligraphy, Biography of Huainan's Later Years, Poems in the Late Tang Dynasty, etc.
Second, Huang Baoyu.
Huang (1880- 1968), whose name is Ai Nong, was born in Qingshanxia village. He has served as director of Fujian Library, director of the painting department of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, professor of painting and calligraphy department of Shanghai University, and librarian of Shanghai Literature and History Museum. Huang Lao has profound attainments in calligraphy, seal cutting and painting. He is as famous as Wang Fuchang and Ma, and is called "Three Old Men at Sea". His main works include "Hundreds of Family Names of Qingshan Nong's Seal Characters", "Thousand-character Works of Qingshan Nong's Books", "Painting Collection of Qingshan Nong's Books" and "Qingshan Nong's Knowledge".
Third, Deng Sanmu.
Deng Sanmu (1898- 1963), whose real name is Ju Chu, whose word is San, and whose other names are lú zhō ng ré n, Wuwu, Dung Weng, Yizu, etc. Deng Lao, a Shanghainese, is a member of China Calligraphy Research Association, a famous modern calligrapher and seal engraver. He is good at calligraphy, seal cutting, poetry and painting, and is proficient in truth, line, grass, seal cutting and official script. In the art world, it has the reputation of "Northern Qi and Southern Deng". His major works include Seal Cutting, Evolution History of Calligraphy in China, Thirty-six Methods of Ouyang Kai Ti, Simplified Three-body Copy, Simplified Regular Script Copy, Selected Poems of Shuangsanmu, etc.
Fourth, Lu
Lu (1899- 1980), formerly known as Ziping, was born in Pinghu, Zhejiang Province in his later years. He graduated from the Department of Literature, History and Geography of Nanjing Normal University, and has taught in St. John's University, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Normal University and Hangzhou University. Lu Lao is one of the pioneers of modern higher calligraphy education in China. Good at calligraphy, landscape, flowers and printing.
In his later years, he created a new style of calligraphy-modern "putting pen to paper" (commonly known as "Lu" style), which is unique in ancient and modern calligraphy circles. His main works include China Calligraphy, Quan Qing Ci Chao, Introduction to Calligraphy, Lu Calligraphy Selection, Lu Calligraphy and Painting Collection, and Lu Poetry Selection.
Verb (abbreviation of verb) Qian Juntao
Qian Juntao (1907- 1998), whose real name is Yutang and Jintang, whose name is Tao Jun, is called Yutang, Yutang and Wuzhai, whose house names are endless sorrow, Silla Qian Juntao Mountain Hall and Bao Hua Jingshe. Tongxiang, Zhejiang, a member of China Artists Association, China Calligraphers Association and China Musicians Association, a famous calligrapher, painter, seal engraver and binder. He used to be vice president of Xiling Printing Society, editor of Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House, and professor of art education department of East China Normal University.
