Wang Chenggang was a middle school teacher. He claimed that his childhood was deeply influenced by his uncle Zhao Tianlin (a famous modern educator and scholar, the first overseas student sent to the United States by Beiyang University, and Zhan Tianyou, a former president of Beiyang University in Tianjin University and a former president of Nankai University) and his father (a non-celebrity, a former president of Tianjin Yaohua Middle School), and his family background was deep, so he believed that he had a profound knowledge of Chinese studies, poetry and calligraphy. Wang Chenggang told others many times that both Mr. Qi Gong and Mr. Ouyang Zhongshi had inscribed a plaque for his study "No Dream, No Penglai Zhai". Later, on the initiative of Mr. Wen Huaisha, the study was changed to "Gegu Mountain Room", and the name was taken from Du Fu's poems to show his homesickness.
Wang Chenggang has compiled and written works such as Ju Que Yan Fu, Cheng Ni Yan Ming and Elaborating Idioms and Allusions.
