Is Xuan paper suitable for calligraphy and freehand brushwork, raw or cooked?

Raw rice paper.

Raw rice paper does not contain alum and peach gum, so it is more absorbent than cooked rice paper, and it is easy to show rich ink color, but it cannot be painted repeatedly, so cooked rice paper is difficult to grasp. Usually used for calligraphy and freehand brushwork. However, because of the protection of alum and peach gum, cooked rice paper has poor water absorption and can be repeatedly portrayed. Usually suitable for meticulous painting.
