1, Wang Xizhi, born in Linyi (now Linyi City, Shandong Province), originally from Shao Yi. His calligraphy style is peaceful and natural, and his brushwork is euphemistic and subtle. His books are highly praised by later scholars and honored as "book saints". In the history of calligraphy, he was called "Zhong Wang" with Zhong You and "Two Kings" with his son Wang Xianzhi. There are many printed copies, which are scattered in essays carved after the Song Dynasty. There is the Collection of Wang Xizhi.
2. Yan Zhenqing was born in Linyi (now Linyi City, Shandong Province), whose name is Xianmenzi, alias Fang Ying. Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is exquisite and good at it. Chu Suiliang, a beginner, studied under Zhang Xu and got his brushwork. Its regular script is dignified and majestic, and its running script is vigorous and powerful, which has created a "Yan style" regular script and has a great influence on later generations. Together with Zhao Mengfu, Liu Gongquan and Ou Yangxun, they are also called "four masters of regular script". Together with Liu Gongquan, they are called "Yan Liu" and "Yangu".
Ou Yangxun was born in Linxiang County, Chenzhou (now Changsha City, Hunan Province). Ou Yangxun is proficient in calligraphy, and he is also called "the four outstanding figures in the early Tang Dynasty" with Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang and Xue Qi. Together with Ouyang Tong, it is called "Greater Europe". Calligraphy is in danger in Pingzhong, nicknamed "European style". His works such as Inscription on Buddhist Pagoda of Huadu Temple, Inscription on Yu Gong Wen Yan Bo and Inscription on Huangfushengchen are called "the first regular script in Tang Dynasty".
