Sun Wanwei, courtesy name Ruize, also known as Weishan Sanren, was born in Luoyang City, Henan Province and is a national first-class calligrapher and painter. He is currently a director of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a director of the Chinese Poetry Society, a researcher of the Chinese Traditional Chinese Studies Association, the director of the Chinese Yanhuang Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, and the director of the Ancient Capital Guoyun Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Ruize has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since he was a child. He has studied calligraphy stickers and calligraphy books of famous artists of all ages. He has been studying calligraphy for many years, starting from Wei Stele, wandering around Longmen 20th level, and studying Huang Tingjian's "Book to Yunfu's Seventh Brother" and "Bitter Bamboo Shoots Fu" for a long time. Wang Xizhi's "Preface to the Holy Religion" and "Seventeen Calligraphy" are all over the paintings of masters such as Zhang Daqian and Pan Tianshou. From them, he realized the true meaning of Chinese characters and calligraphy and painting art. He successively taught calligraphy to famous masters such as Qi Gong and Zhang Hai. His works are delicate yet powerful, rich yet simple, and his paintings of landscapes, flowers and birds are carefully practiced. He is especially good at painting horses, and is deeply loved by experts and scholars. His calligraphy and painting works have been selected and won many awards in national competitions since 1992. In 2013, his calligraphy works were an instant success and showed great virtue, winning the gold medal in the Oriental American National Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting Competition. Many works have been included in the Collection of Contemporary Famous Calligraphers and Painters, the Collection of Hundreds of International Celebrities of the Century, and the Dictionary of World Calligraphers and Painters, and have attracted the attention of collectors at home and abroad. In 2014, he was awarded the honorary title of "One Hundred Outstanding Calligraphers and Painters" by the Culture and Art Center of the Ministry of Culture, Huaxia Art Style and other relevant units.
