Form, quality and affection

Form and sentiment are calligraphy terms. Form refers to the form of characters, which is composed of the length, strength and quantity of dots and strokes. Affection refers to the spirit, momentum and charm of words. From the Book of Music, its original text is as follows:

"True stippling is the form, which makes it emotional. Grass takes stippling as its emotion and transforms it into shape. The grass turns well, but it can't be written. It' s really a loss to draw a picture, but you can still remember the text. " It means: Regular script is composed of a fixed combination of pointillism and its basic physical features, and its artistic language of calligraphy is reflected by the changes of four basic brush strokes in writing: holding, making, turning and using. The cursive script is different from the regular script. In the cursive script, many "strokes" have been symbolized, which has become a relatively fixed component. The cursive script can only express the artistic language that reflects calligraphy through the different changes in the intention of strokes in pointillism writing, and its basic physical features are composed of four basic strokes: holding, making, turning and using. The cursive script is extremely strict in word-tying. If the writing violates the established principle of word-tying, what is written is typos and other words, and the original word has no language function. The writing of regular script is relatively broad, that is, the writing skill of stippling is not good enough, and the words written are not beautiful. It may not be calligraphy, but the language function of Chinese characters still exists, and it is still able to remember and write.

I simply understand it as follows: form is the carrier of rationalization, which is a very intuitive shape of words, while emotionality is an emotional thing, an outpouring of emotion. Things related to worldly desires can only be understood, but can't be accurately expressed, which has unlimited expression space.
