There are still couplets written by him in European regular script when he was 13 years old, which are vigorous and unlike.

Tsung i Jao's Writing Feelings

Fang Xiaokun

Some people compare Tsung i Jao to a mountain, a sea and a lonely island. Academic circles call him "an internationally renowned sinologist" and "the pride of the whole Asian culture".

/ Xiang/Hong Kong/Special/First/Zeng/Yin/Quan/Said: Tsung i Jao, a master of Chinese studies, is a great scholar because of his outstanding talents.

/ Wen/Hua/Bu/Qian/Deputy/Bu/Chang//Zheng/Xin/Miao/said: Rao Gong inherited the most exquisite and elegant part of our traditional culture. He has a wide range of research and deep knowledge, and he is only one person in ancient and modern times.

Professor Ji Xianlin of Peking University said: In recent years, there have been various masters in China, and the master in Ji Xianlin's mind is Tsung i Jao.

Rao's family is the richest man in Chaozhou in modern times, and it is in his own library "Tianxiao Building" that young Tsung i Jao laid the foundation of learning, as well as painting and calligraphy. When he was young, he started with the regular script of Ou Yangxun and Yan Zhenqing in Tang Dynasty and the cursive script of Song Dynasty. Now, on the wall of his former residence in Chaozhou, there are still couplets written in European regular script when he was 13 years old, which are vigorous and not like those written by young people. His pear room still contains the fan of the book he wrote in his twenties, which is also a typical European-style running script. His early experience of learning books seems to be no different from that of ordinary people, but his talent is very unusual.
