The original temple is located in the left front of Tao Yuanming's tomb in Mianyang Mountain, 25 kilometers south of Jiujiang County. The mutiny at the end of Yuan Dynasty was destroyed. In the 12th year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1533), temples and archways were built, and they were completed in the 17th year (A.D. 1538). Later, it was restored and well preserved after the founding of the People's Republic of China. 1960 tomb is listed as a key cultural relics protection unit in Jiangxi province. Due to the need of national construction, the shrine has been used for other purposes, which has been in disrepair for a long time and is on the verge of collapse. 1982, the cultural relics department moved it to the original site. The ancestral hall covers an area of about 250 square meters, belonging to the style of Jiangnan folk houses, with hump gables and cornices, simple and elegant. At the time of moving to the shrine, Mr. Wu Bo, a descendant of Tao Gong, wrote a book about Longmen couplets: "Abandon Peng Ze's official position, pine, cypress and chrysanthemum, and get drunk playing the piano;" Opening an idyllic school, the rhyme is really simple, the first person in a thousand years. "There is a 3-meter-high statue of Tao Yuanming in the temple. Tao Gong is dressed in a wine towel and holding a scroll, which is chic and indifferent. There are famous stone carvings by Zhou Huijun, Xia Xiangping and Chen Rongju on the four walls of the temple, such as Tao Gong's Peach Blossom Garden, Gui Ci and Biography of Mr. Wuliu. Couplets and plaques of contemporary calligraphers such as Shu Tong, Wang Xiaju, Ouyang Zhongshi, Wu Zhongqi and Yao Gongqian were restored or added. Beside the shrine, there are auxiliary memorial facilities such as Liuxiang, Chrysanthemum Garden, Mo Chi Washing and Monument Gallery for visitors to enjoy.
