There have been "divine reply" in history, such as "I am barbarian", "Why not eat minced meat", "The emperor is the first in the book, and the minister is the first in the book" and so on. "I'm a barbarian"
In the pre-Qin period, Chu, led by Chu Wuwang, sent troops to attack Suiguo in Chu Wuwang in the thirty-fifth year. In the face of Chu's invasion, Suiguo said, "I am innocent." Chu replied very roguishly, "I am a barbarian." Compared with those vassal States that originated in the Central Plains, the activities of Chu people are mainly concentrated in Jingchu area in the middle of the Yangtze River basin. Because of this difference in living areas, there is a certain gap in the cultural development between Chu and the vassal States of the Central Plains, and therefore Chu has always been regarded as a barbarian by the vassal States of the Central Plains. Because it is a barbarian, it can be arbitrary, so there is the matter that Chu Wuwang launched a war against it in the name of barbarians without being guilty with the country. "Why not eat minced meat?"
At the end of Cao Wei, the imperial power was controlled by Sima family. After Sima Yan was in charge of the Sima family, he officially replaced Cao Wei with the Western Jin Dynasty. After the death of Sima Yan, his second son, Sima Zhong, acceded to the throne. Sima Zhong is stupid by nature, so he has made many jokes. One time, the people in the Western Jin Dynasty had no food to eat because of famine, and many people starved to death. But Sima Zhong gave a "divine reply" when he heard the courtiers reporting this matter, that is, "Why not eat minced meat". When people can't even eat rice, Sima Zhong asks them why they don't eat meat porridge, which shows that the king is really stupid.
Compared with Sima Zhong's stupidity, Wang Sengqian in the Southern and Northern Dynasties was very resourceful. One day, Xiao Daocheng, the Emperor of Southern Qi who was very keen on calligraphy, had a calligraphy competition with Wang Sengqian, who enjoyed a good reputation in the field of calligraphy. After writing, Xiao Daocheng asked Wang Sengqian which of them was the first. Wang Sengqian has always been good at self-protection, so he didn't appear panic when faced with Xiao Daocheng's question, and then gave a "divine reply" that made Xiao Daocheng feel satisfied. Wang Sengqian's answer is "the first among emperors, the first among ministers". This answer affirms Xiao Daocheng's calligraphy level without deliberately belittling himself, and Xiao Daocheng is delighted after hearing this answer.
