There are more than 1 cliff carvings in Huanglong Cave, which are concentrated on the cliffs around the cave. Huang Longdong's three regular script characters were inscribed by Huang Tingjian (a poet and calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty from 145 to 115), and their brushwork was vigorous. The word is as big as a rock, 9 cm high and 87 cm wide. There are two places where there are still legible handwriting in the description:
In the fifth year of Shaoding in the Southern Song Dynasty (1232), Zhou Bi wrote an inscription in small letters: "On February 28th in Renchen, Shaoding, Zhou Bi in Wenyang stayed with each other and waited on the monks."
