Fang Jing, formerly known as Fang Zhonghai, is a native of Jinghai, Tianjin, and has been fond of painting and calligraphy since childhood. At the age of 8, he studied with the famous painter Shi Zhenguang. For more than 40 years, he never gave up his pursuit of art and studied at Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts many times. After marriage, while farming to support the family, I went to all parts of the country to experience the beautiful mountains and lakes of the motherland. Perhaps it was the ordinary life that prompted him to form a unique understanding and experience of life and art, and he completely integrated his desire for a quiet life and his pursuit of integrity into his works. In traditional Chinese painting, he is especially good at meticulous brushwork, freehand brushwork, antique landscape flowers and birds, bamboo and so on. His calligraphy also has a distinct personality, which is rich in the essence of European style and Zhao Ti, and integrates brushwork, calligraphy and cursive script. Some well-known artists in the industry commented that he is a farmer painter with profound knowledge and comprehensive art after reading his works. Fang Zhonghai has always adhered to his motto of "four noes": "No exhibition, no painting shop, no club, no books and periodicals".
In the early 1980s, he made a living by painting glass paintings, comic books and selling couplets. A set of 72 characters in A Dream of Red Mansions painted by 1984 was bought by a Japanese at 1986 for 2000 yuan. It was with this 2000 yuan that he got married and had children, and with the original funds for doing business, he made great achievements in doing business in the sea for several years and abandoned too many things that should have belonged to him. The only thing he can't bear to let go of is this pen. Ink bamboo is Fang Zhonghai's favorite. He spent half his life on bamboo, and his ink bamboo composition is novel and unique, which has been appreciated by many literati and is very popular.
