Xiang said: in the Tang dynasty, in Yinwang village, Jingyang county, Guanzhong, there lived a poor bachelor with a son and a daughter. After his son got married, the old couple died, leaving a daughter named Cui Hua at home to live with his brother. When Cui Hua girl grew up to seventeen or eighteen, many people proposed marriage. But Cui Hua and a sheep baby in Chenliu Village, five miles away from home, have been lovers since childhood, but they just haven't set a wedding date. When a bachelor was alive, he borrowed a debt from the local rich man, Wang Silversmith, for 2 taels of silver. Wang Silversmith was cruel, and if he didn't give money, he had to marry Cui Hua as his little wife to offset an old debt.
Cui Hua's brother is a gambler who loves money as much as his life. He denies money to others. He forced Cui Hua to marry Wang Silversmith and broke off the relationship with the Yangwa family. At that time, the custom was: "marry a wonderful aunt, June 6, a long time, 369." So I decided to continue to marry Cui Hua on June 6th. Cui Hua girl secretly packed her clothes, and waited for Yangwa in the middle of the night. After midnight, she put her clothes on her back, held a crutch in her hand, tied one end of the spun thread to the front door, and ran away in the southeast with the crutch.
in a day or two, Cui Hua ran to a mountain south of Chang' an, and when she reached the top of the mountain, she met an old man, who rubbed pressure on her head and said, "bad karma's doll, you should take a rest at the entrance to the stage first.". As soon as Cui Hua sat down, Wang Yinjiang, Cui Hua's brother and Yangwa's family followed the line to find her and rushed to the mountain. As it happens, they met an old man and asked where Miss Cui Hua was going. The old man conveniently pointed out, "That's the Cui Hua girl you're looking for! At this time, just at sunrise, this group of people rushed to the top of the mountain, only to see one hand, no one, Cui Hua girl has been seated, only one hand has not changed, reaching into the air, and there is a white line in her hand.
After that, on June 6th every year, Cui Hua's brother and Yangwa will come to the mountain to pay homage. Said to take Cui Hua's spirit back to her family. When I went there, I rode the donkey, brought the sacrifices, and the donkey sang Huan. When I came back, the donkey was empty-backed. Although there was no figure of Cui Hua, the donkey was sweating all over and looked burdened. People say, "Miss Cui Hua has come back to her parents"! Over time, on both sides of the Jinghe River and Weihe River, they all learn to follow this practice. On the sixth day of the sixth lunar month, they always take their daughters back to their parents' homes for reunion, so as not to see people alive or bodies dead, like Cui Hua girl in bad karma.
origin: during the slack season, it is a time to visit relatives.
Daughters often go back to their parents' homes, but when they can go back depends on whether their husbands can leave. For example, during busy farming seasons and festivals, daughters have to live in their husbands' homes. However, during the slack season in June of the lunar calendar, it provided convenient conditions for the daughter to return to her parents' home. As the folk saying goes, "On June 6th, please invite her aunt", therefore, the return of women to her parents' home is an important part of the Day of Heavenly Holies.
why do you want to go back to your parents' home on June 6th? Tracing back to the reason, Jinnan is rich in wheat. Around June 6th, the wheat has been harvested, and it is in a slack season, which is an excellent time to visit relatives. There is a folk saying "June 6th, let's go and strike".
On June 6th, when a girl returns to her parents' home, she will steam a big-moon-shaped dumpling with newly-produced wheat flour, which means that her family has had another bumper harvest. Mother-in-law entertains her uncle and cooks seven or eight meals. The staple foods are bean jelly, cold noodles, steamed buns, pancakes and so on.
In Anyi and Jiezhou, the hosts are proud of eating "Hu Bing", which is said to have been brought back by Zhang Qian when he was abroad. Because Wang Xizhi, a great calligrapher in the Western Jin Dynasty, slept naked and chewed "Hu Bing" in his mouth, it became a custom. This kind of "Hu cake" is made of shredded pumpkin and refined flour. It is soft and delicious, and it is very delicious. Wanrong area wants to eat pancakes, served with pepper leaves, in five colors, which means that Nuwa tries to make up the sky with five-color stones, which is a metaphor for her daughter's cleverness and ability.
If it is a newly married girl, on this day, the bride's family will also send steamed buns to her in-laws, with minced meat in them. After steaming, they must be in the shape of an opening, which is called "Zhangkou Steamed Bread", symbolizing early childbirth for her husband's family. This special folk custom originated from primitive worship in ancient times and belongs to the legacy of female genital worship.
It is said that the original intention of the "Great Harmony in June and June" in China is derived from the custom of "inviting your aunt" mentioned above: As June 6th is in a changeable climate, whenever this day comes, families with daughters will pray for a sunny day and let their daughters come home smoothly. After a long time, people's homesickness is reflected in the wine order.
