Rice carving is one of the most exquisite traditional crafts in China. It is carved on a grain of rice, and the work can only be seen with a magnifying glass or microscope according to the content of the carving, so it has been called stunt for generations. Yan Jiaosheng, a native of Luzhuang Village, Qi Lin Town, Linzhou City, Henan Province, is a famous folk artist, qigong scientist and collector in China. He is the founder of China's hard pen Peony and Yan Yibi, and is recognized as the first rice sculpture in China. I have loved art since I was a child and studied hard. I have shown great talent in calligraphy and seal cutting. My artistic works created at the age of ten were selected to participate in various competitions in cities and counties and won many awards. Over half a century old, he has traveled all over the mountains and rivers of the motherland and wandered in the streets and lanes of large and small cities. His works have been collected by international friends such as Russia, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia.
Dong Qing, the master of rice carving, was originally named Liu Quanfa, who was born in Qingyang, Gansu. He studied Jeet Kune Do under the guidance of Dr. Feng Wei, President of the International Jeet Kune Do Federation, and achieved great accomplishments in painting, calligraphy, rice carving and martial arts.
Master Dong Qing can easily engrave all kinds of pictures, fonts and portraits of great men on rice. Unlike Master Yan Jiaosheng, each of Dong Qing's works takes less than half an hour, and the inspiration is often achieved in one go. Although it is not as profound as Master Yan Jiaosheng's skill for more than 40 years, it is a stroke of genius.
