Not professional, just my opinion.
I like your idea very much. When I was a child, I read a lot of books. I felt that I had obvious advantages in studying Chinese later. Later, everyone read on mobile phones and read in fragments. I read less "books". It refers to physically published books, not counting online novels read on mobile phones or Kindles. Writing articles makes me feel inadequate (of course it is also related to the fact that I haven’t practiced writing for a long time, and there are many reasons why I can’t write well). I don’t know why I liked reading books when I was a child, but I read a lot of them without realizing it. However, reading may be a very boring thing for lively and active children.
I think your organization has a very good starting point, but its goals are obviously not the first priority for parents. Nowadays, parents and children may pay more attention to academic performance, extracurricular talents, and leadership skills, so tutoring institutions and instrumental music, painting, and calligraphy learning are more likely to win the favor of parents. Can reading improve academic performance? Can it improve a child’s temperament? Can your child stand out? I think, of course! However, reading is a long process, and its effects are not immediately apparent. For example, if children attend a composition class, they can make great progress in writing (compositions nowadays are all stereotyped and easy to imitate), and reading can also achieve this goal, but it takes much longer, and the advantage is that it gets more. Many of them are internalized into writing skills and personal cultivation, and their influence on people lasts much longer than the last composition class.
So, in today’s era when children are busier than their parents, competition is fierce, and immediate results are sought, it is difficult to say whether reading classes will work. I think reading is a bit like saving the country through curves, and parents may prefer a more direct, simple and crude method. Moreover, reading, especially for children, takes a lot of time. Is there enough reason to convince parents and children to invest this time?
I also feel that children’s reading habits are inseparable from their parents. Aware parents will consciously set an example and guide their children, so that their children can develop reading habits from an early age. Unaware parents will not pay attention to their children's reading problems, let alone cultivate them. So, what level of parents and children is your organization prepared to serve?
The method you mentioned to help children fall in love with reading seems to focus on "moving", but reading is a very quiet thing. Not "moving" is not enough to attract children, and it is difficult to return to "quiet" from "moving". I am afraid that children like listening to books and acting in dramas, but they still don't like reading.
How to stimulate children's interest in reading... I will consider this issue in about 10 years, I don't know.
The tone seems very pessimistic after saying so much. . Haha, I actually support this project. Maybe I am more conservative and cautious, so I always see the bad side.
Finally, I wish you success. If it really comes out, tell me and I will definitely come and visit! ~
