Exactly what a man appreciates when he is reading

Yan Zhenqing was a famous loyal minister, a famous calligrapher and a famous scholar in the Tang Dynasty. Especially calligraphy, which has long been regarded as the ultimate. Su Shi once said: "Poetry is due to Du Zimei, writing is due to Han Tuizhi, painting is due to Wu Daozi, and writing is due to Yan Lugong (Yan Zhenqing), and the changes in ancient and modern times have made the world capable of doing everything." ("Dongpo Inscription and Postscript") < /p>

However, it may not be his calligraphy that made Yan Zhenqing a household name, but one of his poems.

His poem can be said to be a household name, far more famous than his "Nephew Memorial Manuscript", which is called "the second running script in the world" by the calligraphy circle. The whole poem is to encourage students to be diligent, and the center of the poem is the word "diligence". Mainly from a time perspective. What is diligence? That is to say, you should try your best in terms of time. Not only should you read frequently every day, but you should even spend part of your sleeping time reading. I read at the third watch in the evening (from 11 to 1 o'clock in the evening), and get up and read again at the fifth watch in the morning (from 3 to 5 o'clock). A man (man) with ambition should study like this. This is Yan Zhenqingqin's standard. I think that Yan Zhenqing wrote this because, first of all, he must have done the same thing. He should be a person who often studies very late at night and often gets up early to study. He believes that you should study while you are young, and youth is a good time to study; if you don't study when you are young, you will inevitably regret it when you are old because you have accomplished nothing.

In terms of study time arrangement, Yan Zhenqing may be a bit exaggerated - poetry is inherently allowed to have some exaggeration - but diligence is indeed the first step in reading. In learning any content, only hard work can lead to success. Study as early as possible, otherwise you will get twice the result with half the effort. Just like fighting to seize the high ground, the best policy in learning is to seize the high ground of diligence as early as possible. If children do not seize the high ground of diligence, they will definitely suffer losses everywhere on the battlefield of learning. Because, without diligence, children’s learning efficiency will not be high, and it will be difficult for them to experience the joy of learning and success. Some children may even have the wrong idea that “they are not good at reading.” It can be said that hard work brings hundreds of benefits, while laziness brings hundreds of disadvantages. Losing the "strategic high ground" of diligence not only wastes time, but can also easily sap children's enthusiasm for learning.

When does diligence count as "morning"! For parents, perhaps a child's "earth" should be counted from infancy; of course, this may not be considered the scope of a child's diligence. But for children, this "early" starts at least in the first grade of primary school. Let your children know how to be diligent from the beginning of school and develop the habit of diligence. In this way, your children will benefit a lot. Of course, primary school students do not need to "watch the lights at three and the chicken at five". It is also important for children to pay attention to the balance between work and rest.

This is a good poem, but although children often memorize it, they ignore its profound meaning and lack of implementation in actual learning. Children who have the habit of diligent study since childhood are almost always unsuccessful in their studies; and parents who know how to cultivate their children's diligent habits are almost always uneasy.

Diligence is the elixir of life for children. This poem is probably the golden elixir.
