Yan Zhenqing's calligraphy is exquisite, and he is good at writing lines and opening letters. Chu Suiliang, a beginner, studied under Zhang Xu and got his brushwork. Its regular script is dignified and majestic, and its running script is vigorous, creating a "Yan style" regular script, which has a great influence on future generations. There are Yun Hai Jing Yuan, Li Le Ji, Wu Xing Ji, Lu Ling Ji and Linchuan Ji, all of which are lost. The Song people compiled the Collection of Yan Lugong.
2. Ou Yangxun (a famous calligrapher in the Tang Dynasty)
His representative regular script includes Jiuchenggong Liquan Ming, Huangfu Birthday Monument, Huadu Temple Monument, and his running script includes Zhong Nimeng Diantie and Running Script Thousand Characters. He has his unique views on calligraphy, including calligraphy works Eight Tactics, Teaching Tactics, Theory of Using Pen and Thirty-six Methods. Written by the Buddhist monk stupa inscription of Huadu Temple, Yu Gonggong Wen Yanbo Monument and Huangfu Birthday Monument are called "the first regular script in the Tang Dynasty".
3. Liu Gongquan (a famous calligrapher in the mid-Tang Dynasty)
The inscriptions handed down from ancient times include Engraving the Diamond Sutra, the Stele of the Mysterious Pagoda, the Stele of Feng Su, etc., and the cursive scripts include Fu Shen Tie, Sixteen Days Tie, Insulting Xiang Tie, etc., and there are also ink marks such as Meng Zhao Tie and Wang Xianzhi Send Pears. Liu Gongquan also works on poems. The Complete Poems of Tang Dynasty contains five poems, while The Complete Poems of Tang Dynasty contains one poem.
4. Zhao Mengfu (a famous calligrapher from the late Southern Song Dynasty to the early Yuan Dynasty)
Zhao Mengfu died at the age of 69. He was awarded the title of "Wen Min" by posthumous title, a political official from Pingzhang, Zhongshu Province, Jiangsu Province, and Wei Guogong, hence the name "Zhao Wenmin". He is the author of Song Xuezhai Anthology and so on.
5. Wang Xianzhi (a famous calligrapher in the Eastern Jin Dynasty)
Wang Xianzhi practiced calligraphy with his father since childhood. He is famous for his running script and cursive script, but he also has a deep foundation in regular script and official script. He and his father Wang Xizhi are also called "two kings". It is also known as the "Little Saint". He is also called "Four Sages in the Book" with Zhang Zhi, Zhong You and Wang Xizhi.
