Introduction to Hou Shuangting

Hou Shuangting was born in Shexian County, Hebei Province in 1938. He has been fond of calligraphy since he was a child. He took inscriptions as a teacher and insisted on self-study. In art, he pursues freshness, boldness, freedom and naturalness, and individuality in tradition, gradually forming his own style. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a senior advisor to the China Academy of International Masters of Calligraphy and Painting, a senior advisor to the Chinese Academy of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy, and a senior advisor to the Art Committee of the China Public Relations Association. Won the gold medal in the "Long Live the Motherland" World Chinese Junlong Cup Calligraphy Grand Prix. His works are collected and carved by cultural and artistic institutions such as Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, domestic and foreign museums, memorial halls, temples, and forests of steles.
