Wei Zhenjun's Character Evaluation

Mr. Wei Zhenjun has been engaged in education all his life, and engaged in the research and practice of calligraphy after school, reading widely and practicing new ideas hard. He is honest and modest, and has no intention of grandstanding. His calligraphy got rid of the bad habit of nervousness and carried forward the high style of ethereal and eager. It is true that books are like people, and books are character. Pursuing the perfection of the spiritual world is very important to the artist's achievements. Shu Tong, a famous calligrapher in China, commented in the Preface of Wei Zhenjun's Calligraphy Art: "Learning from ancient times is not conventional. Based on the simplicity of Weibei, he absorbed officials, thus establishing his position in the history of calligraphy in China. " He lives an elegant life, is honest and frank, and lives in seclusion. He often expresses his moral pursuit and calligraphy ambition with couplets such as "clothes and vegetables strengthen bones and muscles, strange words are ancient and modern" and "clouds scatter thoughts and send away the soul of world history", which enjoys an excellent reputation in education and book circles.

195 1 During the land reform, Mr. Wei Zhenjun was designated as an enlightened landlord. He sold his property in Lanzhou Guanyuan (now near Minqin Road Grain Station in Chengguan District) and donated a lot of cash to support land reform. But it is a great pity that a carriage of calligraphy treasures such as ancient copybooks and rubbings collected by the township government from Mr. Wei's home were burned as "useless things". In the early days of the Cultural Revolution, after the provincial museum of literature and history was abolished, Mr. Wei Zhenjun's living expenses were stopped, and he and his family were sent back to their hometown. Because of the constant natural disasters at that time and the poor harvest year after year, he was still optimistic and self-sustaining, showing the character of a calligrapher who was poor and changed. 1974 At the beginning of March, a generation of book writers Wei Zhenjun died at the age of 85.
