Shenzha County, where Jia Gangfeng is located, belongs to the semi-arid monsoon climate zone in the plateau sub-cold zone, with thin air and cold and dry climate. The sunshine time is long, the annual sunshine hours are 29 15.5 hours, and the daily sunshine hours in summer can reach more than 12 hours. It takes about 300 kilometers to drive from Lhasa to Shigatse along National Highway 3 18, and it usually takes about 7 hours.
Shenzha County, where Jiagangfeng is located, not only has Shennan Highway connected with namling county and Shigatse, but also provincial highway connected with Nima, Bango and Naqu. There is a Qinghai-Tibet Highway connecting Lhasa, Amdo and Golmud in Naqu, and the Qinghai-Tibet Railway also has a station in Naqu. The transportation is more convenient.
Shenzha County belongs to the Great Lakes Basin of the South Qiangtang Plateau, with gentle terrain and alternating hills, mountains and basins. The relative height difference between the top of the mountain and the mountain is generally between 300 and 500 meters, and the slope is relatively large. Some surfaces are mostly weathered frozen cracked gravel piles and gravel slopes. The average elevation in the south and north is above 4800 meters. The central part is low, with an altitude of about 4700 meters. Gerenchu (Lake) covers an area of about 700 square kilometers. Selinkuo Lake, with an area of 1.865 square kilometers, is the second largest saltwater lake in northern Tibet Plateau and the boundary lake between Shenzha County and Bango County. The main form of surface vegetation is meadow, accounting for about half of the county's land area.

Mountain line
It takes about 300 kilometers to drive from Lhasa to Shigatse along National Highway 3 18, and it usually takes about 7 hours.
From Kazak, go north along the highway via namling county, and continue north along Shennan Highway (dirt road, but the road condition is better and more stable than Shenzha to Naqu) to Shenzha County. It's about 300 kilometers from Shigatse to Shenzha County, which takes about one day.
From the county seat to the southwest, cross the Woza Zangbo River, and the truck will drive directly to the foot of the mountain and choose a site to build a camp. The distance from Shenzha County to this camp is about 8 kilometers. It takes about 20 minutes by car (truck or motorcycle) and about two hours on foot.
Shennan Highway is not marked on the geographical atlas and traffic map that can be found at present. You can also bypass Naqu or bypass two routes from the north side of Namtso (clearly marked on the map, but also dirt roads), but they are more than 200 kilometers farther than Shennan Highway. What I learned in Shenzha County shows that people in the county often rely on this undisclosed route. The traffic in this county is extremely underdeveloped, and there is only one train to Naqu every week (it takes two days to spend the night in Bangor). People in county towns often take transport vehicles (such as vegetable trucks and bus stops) to namling county for scattered travel.
