1990 The proposal of the deputies to the Third Session of the Ninth Municipal People's Congress put forward the idea of "restoring and opening the pavilion of the ancient city wall", which was valued by the city leaders.

1995, 10 year 10 "Shanghai Old Town Historical and Cultural Relics Exhibition" was held on October 26th, introducing the history of Shanghai Old Town for more than 700 years and showing the political, economic, military, educational and cultural changes.

From April 1996 to July, 2000, five patriotic education training courses were held for Puxi Middle School, No.9 Middle School, Experimental Primary School and No.10 Middle School, and 86 students were trained.

On June 6th, 1996, the opening ceremony of Laoximen Street Community School and the first training course for students' interpreters in Dajingge, the ancient city wall were held in Dajingge.

1996 ~1at the end of 1999, activities such as "100 painters painted Pudong", "100 painters painted Daishan", "100 painters painted animals" and "Donation of paintings and calligraphy after the return of Hong Kong in 1997" were launched.

1August 1996 to1September 1997, two "Ode to the Breeze-Anti-corruption Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Heather Area" were held.

In April of the same year, Dajingge, the ancient city wall, was officially named as the patriotic education base in the whole region. The third floor of Dajingge is the former site of Shanghai Maritime Painting and Calligraphy Institute. On February 5th of the same year, 65438 and the Calligraphy Education Association of City University held the Shanghai Excellent Calligraphy Exhibition of Soft and Hard Pens.

From May 1999 to October 10, the Management Office and Laoximen Sub-district Office jointly held the "Photo Exhibition to Commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Shanghai's Liberation-Revolutionary Historical Relics of the Chamber of Commerce in the Old Town", and a mobile exhibition was held in No.10 Middle School and some communities and neighborhood committees, with 4500 visitors. The planning scope of this scenic spot is determined according to the Outline of Shanghai Suburb and Pudong New Area Historical and Cultural Protection Zone approved in 2005. It starts from Fengxin Highway in the west, ends at Nanmengang in the east, ends at Punan Canal in the north and ends at Fengfeng Highway in southern Sichuan, with a total land area of11.7 hectares. There are also three sluices, which span Zhaojiabang and Fangbang respectively. There are more than 3600 streams and two watchtowers in this city.
