He was born in Huaian City, Jiangsu Province, and his name is Lancaozhai. He has been passionate about calligraphy since he was a child. He has been practicing the Mysterious Tower since he was 5 years old. In 1968, he joined the queue as an educated youth and kept writing. In the early 1970s, I studied Mr. Zhou Huijun’s calligraphy and Lu Xun’s poems. After that, he collected inscriptions on inscriptions from past dynasties, ancient and modern poems, and studied them continuously. He also visited famous experts and sages many times for advice. He received guidance from Shen Peng, Ouyang Zhongshi, Li Duo, Xia Xiangping and others, and furthered his studies through advanced calligraphy training classes and postgraduate major courses at Capital Normal University. He is good at regular script and official script, especially fine cursive script, and expresses the spirit in small regular script. He pays attention to the use of brushwork, structure, movement of qi, and the connection of qi. He pursues ups and downs, is eclectic, contains simplicity, and is full of expressiveness.
