Tracing the history of Guo Yun architecture

There used to be a big house called Guo Yunlou in Tiepingxiang, the gate of Suzhou factory. It is famous not only for its exquisite garden-Yiyuan Garden, but also for preserving a large number of famous calligraphy, painting and book versions. There is no way to prove when the collection of books in Guo Yunlou originated, but from the letter written to his son by Gu Wenbin, the owner of the building, during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, it can be known that Guo Yunlou had a collection of ancient books as early as 150 years ago. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, the building in ancient hands had not only become a collection of thousands of paintings and calligraphy, but also a large collection of more than 800 old engravings of the Song and Yuan Dynasties, fine manuscripts of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and inscriptions.

The former sites of Guoyun Building and Yiyuan Garden were originally owned by Wu Kuan in Ming Dynasty, and were later purchased and rebuilt by Gu Wenbin, the former Daotai in Qing Dynasty. Due to urban construction, the first half of the mansion has become a road, and now the street is the library deep in the original yard. Yiyuan Garden, originally a private garden above Yunlou, is one of many gardens in Suzhou, and now it is open. Many famous people in China, such as Weng Fanggang, and Gu wrote inscriptions. Weng Fanggang Jiaqing Guihai's inscription "Stone Room" was not written for Yiyuan Garden, but after seeing Weng's inscription conform to the layout of the garden, and said, "To tell the truth, the stubborn stone nodded; Write less and play the piano. The piano is strong, but the stone is not stubborn. My son teaches in the Broken String Piano Hall. The stone abbot in the court is like an old man bent over, bowing his head and listening to the piano. He can hardly speak but can listen. Bachelor Qin Xi, the situation is harmonious. Whoever wins my heart first will pay people urgently to put me on the list. In February of the second year of Guangxu, the owner of Yiyuan Garden, the third season, Winter Moon. " The indoor guqin is soothing and the outdoor lake is rugged, expressing the owner's elegant and detached feelings.
