Xiao Bin loves the art of calligraphy. After work, in his spare time, I will always see him immersed in calligraphy, and he has reached the level of selflessness in his diligent study and meticulous persistence. According to my observation, almost every noon, he will lock the door and splash ink alone. That kind of studious spirit really makes people sincerely admire. In his early years, he once said in an article: "I love calligraphy and continue to study, purely for pleasure." Although it is not enough to entertain people, it is really fun for yourself. For more than ten years, I have been immersed in it whenever I have leisure. It can be said that calligraphy has become an indispensable part of my life, and it can even be said to be a state of existence. "Taking calligraphy as the content of life, a part of life, a state of existence, this kind of artistic heart, artistic products and artistic morality is rare and rare in this pragmatic and impetuous era.

Xiao Bin's calligraphy works are free and easy, novel and smart, and the artistic impact of life is revealed in the opening and closing density. After reading it, people can always be shocked, feel and think. Some people were deeply surprised, saying that Xiao Bin was a late learner, and he didn't formally worship any master, but nine times out of ten, he actually understood the essence of China's calligraphy. I'm not surprised at all. Because Xiao Bin is always good at thinking and studying hard, although he stayed in the army for more than 20 years, he didn't get the chance to become a master. But it doesn't affect him to take the ancients as his teacher, the present as his teacher, the monument as his teacher and the life as his teacher. I think, for decades, it is precisely because Xiao Bin has no teachers that he has learned from hundreds of families more recklessly and arbitrarily, and his opinions are few. Not limited to one word, one faction, regardless of ancient and modern times, choose the ambition of good Xi; No matter whether the North Monument is posted in the south or the seal script is paved with grass, people who like it can be eclectic. This confirms a jargon in our literary world: only crafts need to be learned, and literature and art have no learning. We call our predecessors "teachers" because we admire and respect their knowledge and conduct.

Because they are friends, they have a unique preference for Xiao Bin's calligraphy, especially his cursive and cursive prints. His works combine the styles of Huai Su, Zhang Xu, Huanggu, Fushan, Wang Duo and other senior calligraphers, with strong lyrical color, strong interest in freehand brushwork, elegant and agile, profound and meaningful. Of course, in the eyes of others, Xiao Bin still has many shortcomings, which I believe. No one is perfect, and art has defects. Sometimes the incomplete beauty is the highest state of art, as the ancients said, if there is a lack of great achievements, it is no harm to use them. That's the truth.
