Main contribution

From Mr. Benxun Zhang's rigid and flexible brushwork, we can realize that the strokes of brushwork, the astringency of horizontal pen, the straightness of straight pen, the roundness of round pen, the lightness of hook, and the variety of pointillism all come from his understanding of the essence of Zheng Wengong Monument, a cliff dominated by round pen.

The word comes from Zhang Menglong. Among these glyphs, they are tall and straight, generous, vigorous and simple, and rigorous in structure. Use a pen to explore new ideas in the fonts between Li Kai.

Mr Benxun Zhang formed his own calligraphy style and school in 1970s and 1980s. His calligraphy is deeply loved by Kaifeng people. He wrote a plaque with a stroke of a pen and rarely repeated it. Because of his hobby of Beijing Opera, his poetic rhyme can be borrowed from Beijing Opera. Its pen is mainly centered. He thinks that writing a book should not be fast and slow, so Benxun Zhang's calligraphy presents a mellow, vigorous, quiet and changeable style.

As early as 1978, Mr. Benxun Zhang won the prize in the national calligraphy competition. Although he seldom participated in various activities of the Calligraphy Association, his books were widely loved and collected by academic celebrities, calligraphy lovers and ordinary people, and truly achieved the goal of "calligraphy for the people". If you were in Kaifeng in the Seven Dynasties, the couplets written by Mr. Benxun Zhang, ranging from pure gold plaques such as Long Ting Tower and Yuwangtai Park in Kaifeng, to classic calligraphy such as Jiaobei and Chenguanzhuang Monument in Huaihai Campaign, to the signboard of government hotels, all became a beautiful city card in Kaifeng.
