Yuti calligraphy

No matter who knows or doesn't understand calligraphy, almost everyone is full of praise after seeing Wang Xizhi's calligraphy!

On the one hand, Wang Xizhi's calligraphy attainments are related to his diligence. According to legend, he practiced 18 jar water as a child and made great achievements. On the other hand, it should be extremely talented, otherwise there will not be only such a "wizard" in 2000.

Wang Xizhi is known as the "sage of calligraphy". His calligraphy is very good in all aspects, such as Li, Cao, Kai and Xing, which has far-reaching influence. Especially the masterpiece Preface to Lanting, known as "the best running script in the world", has always existed as a "god"! So far, no one can match him.

So why is Wang Xizhi's calligraphy unsurpassed after such a long time?

To know this question, we need to know how wonderful Wang Xizhi's calligraphy is!

First of all, many of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy lines are mainly based on lifting and pressing, and occasionally he also uses twisting brushwork. He used a neat pen at the turning point, showing Wang Xizhi's extraordinary brushwork.

Secondly, using the brushwork of official script to write running script, we can see from his calligraphy of collecting characters that many of his running scripts are written by the center, and the pen-using feature of seal script is the center of the pen, so the turning point in his running script is close to translation, so the lines in his calligraphy are substantial and heavy.

Finally, style and charm, which are also the artistic realm pursued by many calligraphers. We often hear that when evaluating a person's calligraphy, he will be said to have the charm and style of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy. The charm and style of calligraphy is a kind of beauty beyond the superficial form of calligraphy.

However, most calligraphers in later generations practiced calligraphy for a living, or practiced calligraphy or taught themselves calligraphy in their spare time. Although many people study calligraphy systematically, many people practice calligraphy hard. However, the social mass foundation of calligraphy art in later generations is incomparable in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

There are not many calligraphy handed down from generation to generation by Wang Xizhi, but we can still feel the charm of his calligraphy from Wang Xizhi's word collection calligraphy in later generations. Wang Xizhi is a calligrapher who started a school by combining the practicality and artistry of calligraphy. He is called a calligrapher, worthy of the name.

In my opinion, the reason why Wang Qian became a "scholar" was closely related to the social mass base of calligraphy art at that time, besides his extraordinary hard work. Calligraphers of later generations are by no means inferior to Wang Xizhi in their efforts, but they do not have the rich social soil of calligraphy art in the Eastern Jin Dynasty where Wang Xizhi lived.
